DOCUMENT RECORDING
 
When a document is presented for registration that consists of multiple instruments, the fee will be $10.00 for each additional instrument. A document consists of multiple instruments when it contains two or more instruments with different legal consequences or intent, each of which is separately executed and acknowledged and could be recorded alone.

  Deeds (effective October 1, 2009) $19.00 first page  
  G.S. 161-11.6 was added to collect a fee of $5.00 for each deed filed, registered or recorded. The NC Association of Registers of Deeds hereby interprets G.S. 161-11.6 to charge the $5.00 fees on any document that has the word “DEED” in the title of the instrument or any document that we collect an Excise Tax with the exception of Deeds of Trust or Mortgages. $ 3.00 each additional page
